Mother’s Day began with two peace activists in the 1800’s, Julia Ward Howe and Anna Reeves Jarvis, envisioning a Mother’s Day of Peace. We thought this would be a great way to celebrate Mothering this Sunday to hear from women representing organizations who are advocates for peace in the lives of women and children. And we will discuss how the coronavirus pandemic and the stay at home order is effecting our community.
After our program we will introduce two Nevada NOW PAC endorsed candidates. This week we will feature Elaine Marzola running in Assembly Dist 21 and Tanya Flanagan for Clark County Commissioner Dist D.
To attend please click “Going” on our Facebook event or email info@nevadanow.org and we will send the registration link. For more information on these meetings, their speakers, and how to operate Zoom, click here.
Each week we have a program featuring a variety of speakers to inform us on resources available to meet the needs of our community and share how the Covid-19 pandemic is impacting marginalized communities and the ways we can help. Please send any ideas for speakers or topics you would like us to cover by Facebook message or email to info@nevadanow.org.
